What are membership types?
Membership types are used to define the different kinds of membership subscriptions that you have on offer.
For example, you may have Senior, Junior, and Family type memberships, each with different pricing and conditions. Or maybe you have different membership types depending on the season or activity, for example, a Summer and a Winter membership.
Membership types allow you to capture these differences and assign appropriate memberships to all your members.
Getting things ready
Preparing this information in advance will give you a headstart so when your portal is ready, you can start setting your membership types up efficiently. We'll also be happy to guide you through and provide further help articles that go into detail about the membership settings in Frello.
To begin, let's prepare the outline of the membership types you wish to create.
Step one: Details
What is the name of the membership?
What activities does it have access to? i.e. Squash or Tennis
Is the membership a standalone membership or is it a bundle for a family/couple?
Step two: Conditions and Fee
What is the cost of the membership for the term?
Are there any age restrictions? i.e. Juniors must be younger than 19
Do you require payment in advance during registration?
Should all new registrants be approved for membership?
Step three: Term and Renewal
What is the term length of the membership?
Does this membership auto-renew?
Is this membership anchored to a certain day of the year/month?
Is the membership pro-rated?
You'll find a template here (with some examples) that you can download and fill out further membership details to help outline how they will work in Frello.
